Friday Favorites

Blogtober Post #5! Still on a Roll!

Oh Friday...thank goodness your here. This week I have to admit I struggled to focus everyday. I have a lot on my mind and you can only blast music so loud in your car to drown it all out. But I think checking off a couple things on my To-Do list this weekend and once NY Comic Con is over I can relax a little bit.

I'm anxious about my Mom's breast cyst biopsy on Tuesday. Having a cyst, a lump, a fibroid is not an instant cancer diagnosis, but it's stressful nonetheless. October is Breast Cancer Awareness and it is so important to do self breast examinations and go to your gynecologist for your yearly exam. Also, you must speak up! My doctor missed in my breast exam that I had a fibroid in my right breast 10 years ago. I spoke up and yes I had to have surgery to remove it, but it was a benign tumor and I have a piece of mind because I got it checked out. *Knock on wood* I've been breast fibroid free for 8 years and I still do my yearly exams and will continue to do so.

This weekend my husband's Aunt and Uncle are visiting from Texas this weekend and I'm so super excited to see them! I haven't seen my in-laws in a while too so I'm very happy to catch up with everybody. The weather in New York is also going to be perfect "Spring/Fall" so we're hoping to go to a street fair on Sunday and eat as much Apple stuff we can find! =)

But first, New York Comic Con.

Oh boy, it's going to be an intense Saturday. The cosplayers, the panels, the fan craziness, the vendors, Ahh it's always nuts and this year is their projected biggest year to date. I will tweeting and Instagramming a lot tomorrow from the show floor and blogging about it next week! =)

I did have some time to check out a few things...

Here are my Friday Favorites from the week!

1. Movies: Venom & A Star is Born

If I ever got to meet Tom Hardy I probably wouldn't be able to speak I'd be so star stuck. Same goes for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper! lol. I'm such a fan girl of so many things. I have to see both of these movies!! I'm going to see A Star is Born on Tuesday night with my mother-in-law and definitely need to squeeze in Venom before all the spoilers come out! I'm a stickler for detail so I'm keeping an open mind with Venom and man crush hard on Tom Hardy! =)

I'm definitely seeing A Star is Born on Tuesday so I will add my thoughts to my Thursday Thoughts post next week! =)

2. Peel N Stick Fabric Fuse
This should be in every household, especially in October!

For my Comic Con outfit, I had to attach several patches to my leather jacket. This worked like a charm. You can use it for pretty much any fabric to attach something AND if it's just not straight you can pull it off and try it again at least one time. You can find it in pretty much every craft store.

Ladies also use this to hem clothes or piece together a wrap dress that is too open in the boobs area!

3.  Nyack New York Street Fair
Is anyone watching You on Life Time? I'm obsessed with this show! Way to go Lifetime! I'm hooked. Well, without spoilers, in Episode 4 the Beck & Joe venture to Rockland County and Nyack NY! Well this weekend is the last infamous Nyack Street Fair for the year! It's about a mile long street fair where it's local business heaven! The only issue is parking. Go early or take a cab down to the main streets if your going! =)

My cousin will also be there supporting her own business Me & You Cosmetics! Her Rose body butter smells so good! I will definitely have to buy her product set and do a review!

"We can create whatever cosmetics your heart desires. Customization is what we do. We offer a wide range of products from individual creams and lotions made to your liking, to complete gift bags that are perfect for any occasion."

 4. Blaze Pizza

I'm trying Blaze Pizza today. I've passed by it so many times, but finally I'm taking the plunge. I've been super frugal for lunch this past week AND they have Gluten Free dough! I'm so in! I believe it's chain restaurant, but it's only popped up in my area in the past 5 or so years.

Btw, I'm obsessed with pizza.I loved making pizza when I was little with my grandmother. It's one of my favorite memories with her. I still make it every now and again, but haven't since I started the Gluten Free diet last week, which honestly I have been able to keep on about 90% of the time. I'm not sure if I am getting the full benefit out of it because it's still up in the air if I have a gluten intolerance, but I'm proud of myself sticking to it! =)

5. Lending a Helping Hand

Last but not least, I had a very kind man help me out this week and it was so nice I had to mention it.

NY Comic Con is a crazy experience like no other. The other night in a torrential rain storm, my friend's doorman walked me to the car with an umbrella in the insane sideways rain. It was so nice of him that I still am in awe. He must have gotten his shoes and the bottom of his pants wet, but it was such a kind offer. I hope I get to pay it forward to someone else one day soon!
