Hello May...Stolen Moments Sunday

April was a hard month. There I said it. I have promised myself to be "myself" in this lil space of mine and today is no different.

The last 2 weeks of April hit me hard and the freshness of the first rainy day in May tried to make it up to me. Today was one of those lazy days where it was just me and my husband being us and I needed it so badly. He had a cold two weeks ago and I of course got the same cold a week later. It drained me and before I knew it, May snuck right in. Time is funny like that.

While I get back into the groove of things, here are my Stolen Moments of the past few days...

Stolen Moments Sunday

~ Waking up early and going to our favorite Sunday breakfast spot. There is something about weekend breakfasts that is a special time for Craig and me. lol. I had a crispy bacon egg and cheese on a croissant, while Craig had a breakfast burrito!! ~

~ My mom's job closed this week. She tried so hard to keep it going but it was just too hard. She was the Viking sewing machine manager in our local JoAnn's Fabric store. Not enough people bought sewing machines. I was hoping she wasn't upset. I spoke with her on the phone and there is such a lightness to her voice that I haven't heard in a long while. I really hope this is a blessing in disguise for her. She's free of her retail job and will actually have time for herself.

~ Remembering a dream I had almost 2 years ago when I told my grandmother who had passed 4 years ago last month that I was getting married. It was this crazy dream where she was running to me when I stepped outside a cabin I had never been to in real life. She hugged me so tight and told me she was so happy for me that I was getting married. She told me I had to hug her fast because she didn't have much time but she had to see me. She was wearing her hair up like she always had and was forever in her mumu. I cried on my way to work last week when the memory struck me but then I was so happy that I remembered this special & wonderful dream. ~

~ Don't wait for the movie...Read "The Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins. It was so good. I devoured it in about 48 hours. I could not put it down. Each chapter is more addicting then the next. Hawkins grabs a hold of you and you just can't to found out what happens. It is definitely in my top 10 books I've ever read. ~
~ Seeing an old friend of the family I've known practically my whole life. It's felt so good to go down memory lane. ~

~ I felt that pang of hunger that let's me know I think I'm actually on a diet for real this time. Instead of candy I reached for an apple to sate it. I choose lemon sparkling water instead of the usual pepsi. I can do this. One day at at time. ~
