Sunday Stolen Moments!

This weekend was officially the first day of Spring in my world! It was warm here in South Eastern NY and I was barely home for any of it! lol.

I was running around, dashing to New York City and back, making a little bit of my husband's Aunt's 60th birthday, spending time with visiting family, and getting to celebrate my grandmother's 91st birthday!! I can't believe she's 91!!

My mom, me, and my grandmother, Thelma Rose always looking up the sky!

As I've mentioned before every other weekend it's become my new normal to visit my grandmother who is now living in a nursing home near where I live. I feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have not only known my 2 grandmothers BUT once upon a time I had both my great grandmothers too in my life. It's a gift I will be forever grateful.

It's amazing how my grandmother, even with dementia, still talks to me and responds to me. She lights up every time I come in and every time I say "I love you" she tells me that she has always loved me. I say, "Do you love me" and she says "Of Course! I love you and it goes straight to my heart!" When I put my cheek to her face she gives me a kiss. It's funny how she used to do that to me. She'd put her face up to me and I'd kiss her. =)

I will forever miss driving up to Connecticut to visit my grandma and grandpa. They used to love taking me to the zoo, fruit picking at Jone's Farm, she would take me to countless tag sales to rummage through lost treasures, and I could watch her quilt for hours and hours. She always had pizza made fresh with homemade gravy! She did teach me how to roll out pizza dough and I think her every time I make pizza.

Even though those times have passed we can still make new memories that I will always keep very close to my heart. I really enjoy spending the time with her, especially when it's just the two of us. She sometimes asks if I have a boyfriend and then I love telling her I have a husband. She looks at my ring and gets so happy.

I hope my grandfather was looking down on us today. I miss him very much. He passed away last June. I hope he's happy she's now down here with us so we can bring her joy and a smile when we see her. =)

It really was a great Sunday and I'm so glad I got to spend this time with her and my family. =)

She also takes great selfies!! =) Love you grandma! =)

  4. Thelma Rose is damn cool name! Your grandma looks like a nice lady. I have a great grandma and a grandma around and they are both crabby, but I love them anyway.
