Stolen Moments Sunday

Hello Fall! Now I don't have to hide my pumpkin everything I've been having since mid-August. Also, new season calls for a new Welcome mat for my condo. I'm such a lazy homeowner. Full disclosure, my neighbor got a new mat and I got jealous. I think mine was the same since I moved in 7 years ago. I went to A.C. Moore for this lovely treat. It's perfect and exactly what I wanted.

Bring on the Fall activities and sweaters! I will always be a jeans and a nice top girl, and Fall is my perfect time for just that. I can't wait to make some apple and pumpkin picking plans and hit up an Okbterfest or two. We stopped by one at our local Brewery Defiant Brewing Co. to pick up Steins for next weekend. That place has become our home away home and it's within walking distance of our condo. Yes, my husband and I need to move...but we're too busy loving our life here.

Sometimes blurry photos are the best. lol.

My Weekend Trip To Saratoga Springs

Sometimes you have to leave the husband home and drive 2 and a half hours for a friend's Bachelorette weekend! After all the extra hours I've put in at work I needed to kick back, drink fruity drinks out mason jars, get stuck in an inflatable tube, and make some new friends.

Cheesy sounding, I know, but it's the honest truth.

The destination picked was Saratoga Springs in upstate New York. I thought it was going to Lake George, but I'm mildly terrified of swimming in a lake so I was kinda happy about the final choice. Saratoga is best known for the horse races but even off season there is a lot of fun things to do! There were shops, wineries, breweries, restaurants, and the architecture of all the buildings is beautiful. It has all the New England prettiness without the 4 hour drive.

Stolen Moments Sunday

I have absolutely no clue what type of flower this is but I just fell in love with it. My husband laughed because the flower was growing in a trail part of the zoo we went to today where there were tons of animals yet I was taking pictures of the flowers for  my blogpost header! lol.

The weekend was crazy busy from my friend's bridal shower to my god-daughter's dance recital to a date day adventure to the zoo.

Did it all go off without a hitch?
Nope. Florists close mad early on Saturdays?!?!

Did I win Bridal Shower Gift Bingo?
Uh-huh! I won an adorable Pineapple tumbler.

Did I realize I was Taking Photos of the Wrong Kid on stage at the Dance Recital?
Most definitely...I think I need a better glasses prescription for distance

Stolen Moments Sunday

This weekend was a quiet one but there was still a few cool things that happened.

~ A lot of times my Sundays revolve around family. I spend it catching up with my parents and visiting my grandmother - my mother's mother - at the nursing home. My grandmother suffers from dementia but somehow when I say "Hi Grandma!" she perks up and smiles. Somewhere in her subconscious she knows it's me. It's always my favorite stolen moment just between her and me.

Hello May...Stolen Moments Sunday

April was a hard month. There I said it. I have promised myself to be "myself" in this lil space of mine and today is no different.

The last 2 weeks of April hit me hard and the freshness of the first rainy day in May tried to make it up to me. Today was one of those lazy days where it was just me and my husband being us and I needed it so badly. He had a cold two weeks ago and I of course got the same cold a week later. It drained me and before I knew it, May snuck right in. Time is funny like that.

Sunday Stolen Moments!

This weekend was officially the first day of Spring in my world! It was warm here in South Eastern NY and I was barely home for any of it! lol.

I was running around, dashing to New York City and back, making a little bit of my husband's Aunt's 60th birthday, spending time with visiting family, and getting to celebrate my grandmother's 91st birthday!! I can't believe she's 91!!

Sunday Stolen Moments...

A long time ago I picked up a rose wine bottle at Stew Leonard's wines called "Stolen Moments". It stuck with me long after that day. I find myself living for those moments over the weekend that I always want to remember!

I really need to find that bottle of wine too because it was soooo delicious!! =P

Sunday Stolen Moments: A Tiny Baptism for a Tiny Baby

Today I went to something special. A tiny baptism for a tiny baby. My best friend blessed her baby girl and it was an absolute treat to be a part of it! Lil Madison didn't even cry!! I was shocked. She was a trooper and held out to the very end. It was beautiful and it reminded me of one of my hopefuls of the year.

Instead of resolutions for 2016 I'm concentrating on a few hopefuls I have not forgotten. One of them is hopefully getting pregnant later this year.  My husband and I are not trying yet to have kids but today made me so excited for the time when we decide to start!

Sometimes the weather man is right! Southern NY got socked with at least a foot of snow. I think my dad told me there was 14 inches of snow that fell in Pearl River, NY. Yes my father is one of those crazy people who goes out with a yard stick to test the inches. lol. But I love him. =) Overall, the snow day was just what I needed. I delightfully got to do some things I'd been putting off for far too long.

Goodbye 2015 & Hello 2016!!

Happy New Year! from Melanie & Craig - Toots & Dill

~ Goodbye, 2015 ~

If I had to pick one word to describe 2015 it would be blurry. Three days into the new year I'm still taken aback that 2015 even happened. I walked down the aisle and became a wife to my best friend. I went to a country I had never been before. I built memories with new friends at a beach house I can't wait to go to again next year. I held my best friend's newborn baby and felt that maternal urge flourish. I discovered true friendship can endure time & distance. It was one hell of year but definitely a blur.

Weekend Stolen Moments...

This weekend was non-stop go go go...But all the fun kinds of go go go...

Sunday Stolen Moments...

My friend Dawn laughing, me in aqua smiling, and my friend Debra with the curls at her Sweet 16...

This weekend brought some much needed friend recap time! The picture above was taken over 14 years ago and all three of us girls are still friends. Of course we don't see each other as often as we'd like, but the friendship is still there and going strong.

My November Ban.do Agenda...Ready to be filled!

Hello November! Like the rest of the blogging community I'm shocked that it's November. Even though I got to go to two Halloween parties I'm still am in shock Halloween is over, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and Christmas *gasp* is approaching fast. But there is two months to set it all right.

Stolen Moments Sunday!

Another Sunday, another busy weekend and another awesome Stolen Moments Sunday. This weekend was full of Halloween fun, gossiping In-laws, and seriously needed reunion between close friends. Definitely one for the memory books!
