#Blizzard 2016 - A Lil of This & That...

  1. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - Here
  2. The Visit
  3. Garnier SkinActive Miscellar Cleansing Water
  4. Rancid Concert - March 17th - Ft Lauderdale, FL

Sometimes the weather man is right! Southern NY got socked with at least a foot of snow. I think my dad told me there was 14 inches of snow that fell in Pearl River, NY. Yes my father is one of those crazy people who goes out with a yard stick to test the inches. lol. But I love him. =) Overall, the snow day was just what I needed. I delightfully got to do some things I'd been putting off for far too long.

"The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer"
~ No Spoilers ~
I devoured my first book of the year and in less than 12 hours. I'm a lil scared to say that I read a 400+ page book in that time frame but it was just soo good I could not put it down. I usually don't read YA books, but something about the cover of "The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer" stuck with me ever since I spotted it at Target a few years ago. I wanted to buy it then but for some reason I didn't. It disappeared from my memory for years...but then recently the cover haunted me again. I couldn't remember the title but then I spotted it one day at Barnes & Noble and I giddily snatched it up.

Often I find the book EVERYBODY is talking about hard to get into or even read. The authors throw huge words in it and try to show the reader they took 10th grade English class and learned all those SAT words you've forgotten. So every now and again I need to read an easy to read book that tells a kickass story and flows nice enough to polish it off in a day's time. This was such book. I was riveted and could barely put it down. There was a sweet romance, a chilling tale, and a hook that made you want to desperately hope for a sequel. I can't wait to grab it

The Visit - Movie by M. Night Shyamalan
If you liked the other M Night Shyamalan movies this one is for you - but be forewarned it is a perfect one demand movie to watch at home and enjoy. There are very little bells and whistles - no CGI - just story w/ a hand held camera "found footage" layout. There is a guessing game that will grip you and it was fun trying to figure it all out. If I had paid the whopping amount of money to see a movie in the theaters nowadays I might have been disappointed - but for $5 bucks in a snowstorm - I'll take it!

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water
When I tell you I've seen reviews of this everywhere...I mean everywhere from U.S. bloggers to U.K bloggers to Asia Bloggers. Everyone is loving this product and when I found a coupon + CVS extrabucks I snatched myself a bottle! To put it simply...it works. It takes my makeup off - my thick eyeliner & primer + eyeshadow in a few short wipes w/ a cotton pad. I think I need to squirt less onto pad becuase it does burn my eyes a little bit. Nowhere nearly as bad as other makeup removers, so I'm definitely going to continue use it.

Rancid Concert - March 17th, 2016 - Ft Lauderdale, Florida
Yup! What better things to do than go see Rancid my husband's favorite band on St. Patrick's Day in sunny Florida. We had been thinking of visiting his grandparents who live in Florida and why not throw in a Rancid concert for good measure! I've been a fan of Rancid, nowhere near as diehard as Craig, but their concerts are fucking awesome. The planning is under way!! If you know any great places to see in Ft Lauderdale...I'm all ears!

How Was Your Weekend? =)

  5. I am a YA book addict, so that book sounds like something to check out! And no judgment - I finished two books over the weekend due to the snow as well ;)
