The beginning of this year has given me some ups and downs. I've been rolling with the punches and trying not to think when the next shoe will fall. The next shoe has already fallen and I really don't know all the facts yet. It will affect my family and I just need to know more. I'm hoping this weekend coming up will place me firmly in the loop so I know the actions that will need to take place to help and heal.
The uncertainty concerns my uncle health's and it has hiked up the notch on my health awareness. I myself have had 3 surgeries in my life. Two to remove breast fibroids and the other was to remove my gall bladder. It was an odd period of 3 years and some of it now is just a blur. I haven't had a new fibroid growth in six years *knock on wood* and I really need to remind myself how important it is to be mindful of my overall well-being.
Lately I feel like the secret to sticking to something is making my goals smaller...It's making this journey feel more achievable for me.
Five Small Health Goals I've Attained in the Past Month:
1. Actually Gave Up Chiptotle for Lent. I don't miss it either.
2. Try New Things! Especially Yogi Tea - The Tea bag is like a fortune cookie! Fiber One Products are the best! The Gummies help my sweet tooth!
3. Been doing simple yoga standing up in the morning while my coffee brews
4. Tried a New Workout Class - New Obsession: Cardio Kickboxing
5. Switched to an Aluminum Free Deodorant
Bonus Round:
Actually have been drinking water! In turn, I have to pee almost every 2 hours. But I'm feeling more energized? Not sure if it's the water or the tea yet...
The last one, switching to an aluminum-free deodorant, is in it's preliminary stages. I definitely need to do more research on this about how this will benefit me in the long run. After reading several blogposts about how it's good for you I made the choice and hope I choose wisely.
I've been using this new aluminum free deodorant for about 3 weeks and I'm not sure if I like the one I have chosen. It's a roll-on and it's hard to describe how it feels except that it's sticky. I feel like my arm pits are stuck together, but I don't know if this feeling is unique to the brand I choose. BUT it's working as a deodorant. I don't smell "me" ya know? It's all a process and I'm going to see what could be my other options.
Small Goals can go a long way!!
